He was predeceased by: his parents, Arleigh Staley and Marguerite Staley (Custer); his wife Elizabeth "Betty" Mullen; his siblings, John Staley and Carol Segebrecht; and his son-in-law Dale Olsen.

He is survived by: his children, Brad Staley (Linda) and Cindy Olsen; his grandsons, Mitch Staley and David Staley (Chelsie); his great grandchild Jackson Arleigh Staley; and his brother-in-law Roger Segebrecht. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
