She is survived by: her husband James Hayes; her children, Stephen Carey (Rebecca), Mary Rintamaki (Jason) and Timothy Carey; and her brothers, Robert Benson Jr. (Dolores), David Benson and Donald Benson (Valissa). She is also survived by her 12 grandchildren.
