He was predeceased by: his father Irvin Phelps; his sister Linda Phelps; and his stepbrother Milton Beck. He is survived by: his wife Faye Ward; his children, Dawn and Chad Phelps; his mother Mildred Boege Kennedy (Boege); his siblings, Evelyn Moore (Ken Yoder), Julia Harbaugh, Wendy Schroeder and Myron Phelps (Kris); his grandchildren, Autumn, Alyssa and Roman Phelps; and his stepsiblings, Laurie Christen (Bernie), Harold, David and Lennie Beck (Cathy).
