He was predeceased by: his wife Rose; his sons, Keith Butikofer and Merlin Butikofer; his daughter-in-law Liz Butikofer; and his siblings, Reuben Butikofer, Bert Butikofer, Anna Butikofer, Elizabeth Moore and Ruth Wiegand.
He is survived by: his children, Louise Johansen (Leo) of Elgin, Richard Butikofer (Donna) of Cedar Rapids, Robert Butikofer (Kathy Juba) of Cedar Rapids and Gary Butikofer (Cindy) of Elgin; and his siblings, Shirley Nester of Rock Rapids, Paul (Mildred), Albert (LaVerne) of Elgin and William (Norma) of Gridley, IL. He is also survived by fourteen grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, as well as many beloved extended family.
