He was predeceased by : his parents, Merlin Sr. Vought and Naomi Vought; his sisters, Lois Amdall (Roger), Norma Sussenbach (Ward) and Naomi Vought; his sister-in-law Marie Strong (Lyle); his brother James Vought (Nancy); his brothers-in-law, Roger Amdall (Lois) and Doug Tweed (Nelda); and his nephews, Adam Amdall and Randall Niceswanger.

He is survived by : his wife Janet Niceswanger of Chetek; his children, Debra Wampfler (Thomas) of Barron, Daniel Vought (Trent Plexico) of Columbus, OH, Gary Vought (Debra) of Crandon and Stacy Winjum of Eden Prairie, MN; his grandchildren, Jacob Wampfler (Alexandra), Samuel Wampfler, Rebekah Henderson (Joshua), Josiah Wampfler and Andrew Vought (Keely); his great grandchildren, Naomi Vought, Noah Henderson, Josephina Vought and Adelaide Vought; and his brother David Vought (Chris). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, other extended family and dear friends.
