He was predeceased by: his parents, Beauford Copus and Verna Copus (Rockwell); and his siblings, Wilfred Butch Copus, Duane Bruce Jones, Lester Frank Copus, Kenneth Copus, Wellington George Copus, Linda Jones and Sarah Field.

He is survived by: his wife Betty Scranton; his children, Mindy Copus (Allen LePage), Athena and Michael Copus; and his siblings, Jane Vyborn, Garry Copus (Teddy), Nancy Welch, Daryl Copus, David Copus and Ruby T Shirley. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins.
