She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Edna Paske and William Paske; her husband Robert O. Thiel; her children, William "Bill" Thiel and Linda O'Leary (Craig); her grandchildren, Matthew Thiel (Kali), Robert O'Leary (Rachel) and Ann O'Leary Gundlach (Matthew); her great grandchildren, Hannah and Caleb Thiel; and her siblings, Evangeline Brooks, Harvey Paske, Allen Paske and Elaine Guenther.
In lieu of flowers, memorials have been designated to Sheboygan Lutheran High School Fine Arts Center c/o Darlene Thiel Memorial and First United Lutheran Church.
