He was predeceased by: his parents, Amos Severson and Lillian Severson (Watt); his brothers, Norman, Jerry (Alice) and Kenny; and his brother-in-law Leslie Kolstad (Joyce).
He is survived by: his wife Arlene M. Kolstad; his children, Denise Cornell (Ken), Sheboygan Falls and David Severson (Sandy); his grandchildren, Deana Brandl (Troy), Oshkosh, Danae Zugno (Antonio), Pewaukee, Courtney Severson (Ben) and Brandon; and his great grandchildren, Chase, Ava Brandl, Drew and Austin Zugno. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
