He is survived by: his parents, Richard O'Gara and Kim O'Gara; his stepfather Thai Tran; his significant other Beth Schmidt; and his significant other's son Stuart Schmidt of Sheboygan. He is also survived by his siblings, many aunts, uncles and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established in Michael's name.
