He was predeceased by: his parents, William Berns and Leona Berns; his wife Clarice; his siblings, Donna Eckert (Henry), Robert Berns and Lewis Berns; and his grandson Jason Berns.
He is survived by: his friend Clarice Erickson; his children, Jean Berns Jones (Charles) of Rewey, WI, Janet Olson (Dennis) of Omro, WI and Jim Berns (Jennifer) of Sister Bay; and his brother Lester Berns of Sturgeon Bay. He is also survived by his three children; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations will be given in Philip's name to one of his favorite charities, St. Jude Children's Hospital.
