He is survived by : his wife Cheryl Lynn Bies; his uncle Phillip Albertson; his children, Jim Appel (Kristi) of Ellison Bay, Kristy Charney (Todd) of Ellison Bay, Jake Appel (Tara) of Milwaukee and Jason Appel (Elizabeth) of Sister Bay; his grandchildren, Billy Appel (Roxanne), Tyler Appel (Gina Kvatek), Jamie Sue Appel, Elizabeth, Evelynn, Lauren, Jessica, Luke, Josh Charney and Evangeline Appel; his great grandchildren, Cedric, Levi Appel, Mia, Caleb and Liam Hummel; his siblings, Robert Appel (Joan), Edward Appel (Holly), Tina Appel and Ida Kay Orsted; and his brother-in-law Tom Schmidt. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
