He was predeceased by : his former life partner Helen Margaret Ergen; his grandson Max Ergen; and his daughter-in-law Christine Ergen (Lowell James). He is survived by : his wife Marcella Ergen (Wilhelm); and his children, Deborah Moga (Donald), Charles Ergen, Gregory Ergen (Helen), Lowell James Ergen (MaryJane) and Cheryl Bergstrom. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren, and 21 great-grandchildren.
Lowell found contentment in helping others, refurbishing computers and donating them to schools, volunteering at his church including spending many hours rebuilding a pipe organ.
