He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Frank Boettcher and Nila Boettcher (Grant); his wife Marilyn Mlsna; his children, Dale Boettcher (Gina) of Custer and Beca Nix (Donald) of Custer; his grandchildren, Brittany Rose (Cody), Zackary (Kimmy), Daniel, Matthew and Bailey; his great grandchild River Rose; his sisters, Elsie Callows, Rosetta Ziegler (Earl), Elizabeth Weiss and Joyce Kester (Jere); his close friend Deb Hall; and his brothers, Claude Waltenberg and Malven Boettcher.

Memorials may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church.
