He was predeceased by: his parents, Florence Zelm and Edwin Zelm; his son Mark; his wife Joann; and his brother David.
He is survived by: his daughter Dr. Ann Metzler; his grandchildren, Caden Metzler, Louisa Probst (Greg) and Kurt Zelm; his siblings, Dr. Merlin Zelm (Joann), Dr. Gerald Zelm (Becky), Dr. Ken Zelm (Mary) and Carol Brue (Craig); his sisters-in-law, Dr. Cheryl Mittelstedt and Beverly Larkin; and his daughter-in-law Patty Zelm Emmart.
