He was predeceased by: his parents, Jessie Gardner and Adelbert Gardner; his siblings, Jack, Hope and Marge; his former wife Dorothy Gardner (Sundberg); his daughter-in-law Suzie Gardner; and his stepdaughters, Caroline Jones (Ronald) and Nora King (Joseph).
He is survived by: his sister Ruth "Sis" Smith; his former wife Dorothy Sundberg; his children, Dennis Gardner, Sandy Berndt (Tim), Sue Selbo (Paul), Lynn Grassmann (Pete), Nancy Gardner and Ray Gardner (Susan); his wife Doris Johnson; and his stepchildren, William Johnson, Sandy Johnson and Sue Wik (Gary).
