He is survived by: his children, Michael Wawrzyniak (Pam) of Lexington, VA and Jennifer Dettlaff (Douglas) of McFarland; his grandchildren, Adela, Josh Wawrzyniak, Sophie and Sawyer Dettlaff; and his sister-in-law Fran Schleg of North Judson, IN..

A memorial service was held on Saturday, May 10th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Messiah Lutheran Church (5202 Cottage Grove Rd, Madison, WI 53716).
