He was predeceased by: his parents, Einar Erstad and Jennie Erstad (Manki); his brothers, Richard, David and Dennis; his brother-in-law Jerry Maurer; his mother-in-law Erma Johnson; his brother Duane; and his sister-in-law Ruth Ballentine.
He is survived by: his wife Kathy of John's Lutheran Church; his sons, Karl and Kurt (Nicki Van Abel); his grandchildren, Samantha and Jake; his siblings, Marilyn Maurer, Errol (Ruth) and Don (Jane); his sisters-in-law, Alice, Beverly and Carol; and his cousin Renny Anderson. He is also survived by cousins.
