She was predeceased by: her parents, Walter Kangas and Martha Kangas (Ruokonen); her sister Evelyn Schleicher; and her brother-in-law Roger Mattes. She is survived by: her daughter Danielle Schmidt of Charles City, IA; her siblings, Carolyn Mattes and Del Kangas (Karen) of Superior, WI; and her nephews, Martin Kangas (Diane), David Kangas (Jody), Matthew Kangas (Brooke) and Peter Schleicher.
