He was predeceased by: his parents, Cycril Smith and Clemintine Smith (Van Massenhove); his wife JoAnn; and his brother Donald Smith. He is survived by: his children, Cynthia Lagae, Hugh Smith (Ginger), Michael Smith (Jodie), Mary Jo "Moe" Miller (Dean), Scott Smith (Paul Jones), Gerald Smith and Paula McDonald (Kirk); and his sister-in-law Frieda Smith. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren.
