She was predeceased by: her parents, John Posivio and Leona Posivio; her husband James M. Schmid; and her son James 'Tim' Schmid. She is survived by: her children, Larry Schmid (Brenda) of Hastings, MN, Marie Spaeth (Stan) of Bloomer, WI, Debbie Nikstad (Jerry) of Foxboro, Diane Meyer (Tim) of Sioux Falls, SD and John Schmid (Tammy) of Cloquet; her daughter-in-law Kathy 'Peachie' Schmid of Superior; her grandchildren, Sarah, Rebecca, Lucas, Alaina, Jeremiah, Jesse, Nolan, Kevin, Stacy, Alicia and Charlotte; and her siblings, Leola, Frances, Vicki and Paul. She is also survived by 15 great-grandchildren.
