He was predeceased by: his parents, John Mehtala and Mary Mehtala; and his siblings, Violet Wentala, Judy Mehtala, Helen Mehtala, Walter Ojala and Leslie Mehtala.
He is survived by: his wife Rita; his children, Judy Mehtala of Superior, Julie Mehtala of Superior, Raymond 'Scott' Mehtala of Superior, Edward Mehtala (Robin) of Superior, Kelly Livingstone (Scott) of Tenino, WA and Mary Wicklander (Paul) of Puyallup, WA; his siblings, John Mehtala and Irene McEvilly; and his cousin Richard Mehtala (Diane). He is also survived by 21 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
