He was predeceased by: his parents, Eugene Podevels and Anna Podevels (Sellung); his sister Erma Kaisershot; his sons-in-law, Elroy Christiansen and Michael Beam; and his brothers-in-law, Bernard and Orville.
He is survived by: his wife Audrey Podevels (Recore); his children, Charles Ludwig (Rebecca Giessel), Susan Beam, Lynn Christiansen, Vicki Fecker (George), Karen Ludwig, Laurie Anderson and Darlene Firkus (Dennis); his sisters, Marie Dalhke and Margie Manecke; and his brother-in-law Edward Kaisershot. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
