He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Dieter and Clara Dieter (Geiger); his son Walter "Buddy" Dieter Jr.; his brother Fred Dieter; and his children-in-law, Laurie Dieter and Mark Basco.
He is survived by: his wife Clarisse Dieter of Tomahawk; and his children, Debbie Basco (Dieter) of Medina, MN, Ray Dieter of Naples, FL and Gregg Dieter of Tomahawk. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
