He was predeceased by: his parents, Percy E. and Maude; and his siblings, Lorraine, Orville, Edgar and Rod.

He is survived by: his wife Ellen Goodspeed; his children, Syndi Schlindwein (Ken), David Goodspeed (Kimberly Schopf), Scott Goodspeed (Beth) and Wayne Goodspeed (Trish); his grandchildren, Jeff (Samantha), Amanda, Will, Vaughn, Ray, Sean, Kathryn, Thomas and Danielle; and his sisters, Carolyn and Elita. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
