He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Gordon Sickels and Hilda Sickels; his wife Sallie A. Sickels; his children, Susan Vornholt (John), John Sickels (Colleen) and James Sickels (Sarah); his grandchildren, Anne Waligora (Bret), Zachary Vornholt (Gisela), Emily Robb (Ryan), Betsy Vornholt, Morgan Warner (Dan), Kate Batterman (John), Ryan Sickels and Matthew Vornholt; his great grandchildren, Henry Robb, Elena Vornholt and Cecilia Batterman; his siblings, Gene Sickels and Kathy Duff; and his sister-in-law Susan Lauritzen. He was also cherished by cousins, nephews, nieces, and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Don's honor to the First United Methodist Church of Waukesha.
