He was predeceased by: his parents, Stanley and Margaret; and his wife Eileen Tuchel. He is survived by: his sons, James E. Smetana (Susan K.), Randolph J. Smetana (Linda S. Park) and Paul Smetana; his grandchildren, Dr Matthew Smetana (Lauren), Peter Smetana, Dr Stephen Smetana (Rachel), Kyle E. Smetana and Kaitlyn A. E. Smetana; his great grandchildren, Zachary and Cara Smetana; and his siblings, Jean Heiligenthal (late Stan), Judy Mangold (late Ron) and Jerome Smetana (Jean). He is also survived by nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
