He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Burton Benson and Irene Benson (Langman); his former wife Betty Sorensen; and his brothers-in-law, Leo Mongrain, Edward Hume, Paul Sorensen, Marvin Schumacher, Larry Sommerfeldt, Georg Brendel Sr. and Tom Nereim.
He is survived by: his wife Anne Nereim; his siblings, Barbara Mongrain of Oxnard, CA, Donna Hume of Green Bay, Shirley Schumacher of Eau Claire, Marion Sommerfeldt of Shawano, Lloyd (Donna) of Dane, Judith Benson Brendel of Anchorage, AK, Harry P. (Peggy) of Lodi, Gladys Doyscher (Richard) of Frederic, William of Verona and Richard of Madison; and his nieces and nephews, Greg, Cort Mongrain, Carolyn Long, Douglas Sorensen (Sheri), Cindy Kolpien (Curtis), Charles Schumacher (Brittany), Scott Benson (Angela), Laura Galarowicz (Scott), Christy Dailey (Chris), Georg Brendel Jr. (Jaylee), Jennifer Rake (Tim), Jeffrey Benson (Jennifer), Jaime Benson, Ginger Duckert (Tony), Bridget Benson, Anna Nereim (Brad), Elizabeth Wilder, Laura Chastan (John) and Ted Wilder (Carrie). He is also survived by great-nieces/nephews; and other family and friends.
