He was predeceased by: his sister Judith Ann; and his brother-in-law Lewis Combs. He is survived by: his siblings, Alvin Jr. (Gail), Ann Combs, Richard (Becky), Patti VandeSlunt (Keith), Judy Burke (Mike) and David (Michelle); his children, Austin, Adam, Taylor and Brittany; and his grandsons, Jack and Owen. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
