He was predeceased by: his son Jeff; his granddaughter Jessica Coleman; his great grandchild Madelyn Iverson; his siblings, Virginia Jury, Bernice Bondow, John Pingel and Russell Pingel; and his daughter-in-law Joyce Pingel.

He is survived by: his wife Etola; his children, Lyle Pingel, Jr. (Mary), Linda Pingel, Laureen Johnson (Russ), LaDonna Pingel (Randy Olson), Lane Pingel (Renee Bisner) and Loren Pingel (Vicki); his grandchildren, Jeremy Pingel, Josh Pingel, Michelle Hanneman (Mike), Adam Iverson, Nathan Pingel, Nicole Pingel, Blake Pingel, Kayleigh Pingel, Ryan Plank, Holly Rioux (Jason), Adam Bisner and Tyler Vander Bloemen; his great grandchildren, Dominic Pingel, Mike Hanneman, Olivia Hanneman, Aiden Iverson, Jack Pingel, Etta Pingel, Dante Morin, Trinity Taylor, Braeden Olson, Joshua Pingel, Jayvin Pingel and Donovan Pingel; and his brother Wayne Pingel.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
