He was predeceased by: his wife Judith Courtney (Nelson); his parents, Leslie Courtney and Ann Courtney; his stepfather Ralph; and his siblings, Patricia Hucke, Don, Gene and Richard Courtney.
He is survived by: his siblings, Jerry Courtney (Janet) of Whiting, Kay Drefcinski (Earl) of Mosinee, Mollie Strasser of Stevens Point and Sharon Courtney (Jerry Kummer) of Stevens Point; and his children, Alexander McKelvey (Jodi) of Waunakee, Colleen Wenos (Nicholas) of Sun Prairie and Ben Courtney of Plover. He is also survived by four grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
In 2013, Tom began to develop Alzheimer's disease and experienced heart and brain problems.
