Schmaltz and Evelyn Ledman Schmaltz; his former wives, Margaret Balmer and Margaret Schmaltz; his daughter Teresa Schmaltz; his son-in-law Douglas Werner; his sister Lois Ann Wohlhoefer; his half-sisters, Lois Ann Gilmore and Donna Christianson; his stepsister Rose Marie Frost; and his sister-in-law Joanna Fay.

He is survived by: his wife Jane Fay; his children, Jon Schmaltz (Mary) of Waupun, Gretchen Pluim (Mark) of St. Charles, MN, William Schmaltz (Sharon) of McDonough, GA and Holly Narloch (Jerome) of Oconomowoc, WI; his grandchildren, Stephanie Latham, Amy Wiese (Charles), Valerie (Richard), Brunoni, Dallas Werner (Amy), David Schmaltz (Karen), William Schmaltz (Danielle) of Erica, TJ and Lydia Narloch; his great grandchildren, Creighton, Chase, Cyren, Cecelia Wiese, Lilliana, Richard III, Brunoni, June, Jade Werner, Daniel, Aubrey Schmaltz, Henry and Anna Schmaltz; and his half-sister Jeannine Swan (Gerald). He is also survived by special friend and former.
