With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Alfred J. Pophal (Wausau, Wisconsin), who passed away on December 11, 2025 at the age of 94. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, John Pophal and Irene Pophal; his sisters, Frances, Lillian, Helen and Alice; his stepmother Marie; and his stepsister Audrey.
He is survived by: his wife Dolores Pophal; his sons, Steve Pophal (Judy) of Wausau, Jeffrey Pophal (Mary) of Henderson, John Pophal of Weston and Daniel Pophal (Linda) of Reno, Nevada; his grandchildren, Elizabeth Cuenca (Diego), Ryan Pophal (Audrey), Bradley Pophal, Ashley Pophal, David Pophal and Sarah Pophal; and his great grandchild Diego Cuenca II.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 19th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the St. Andrew Lutheran Church (150202 County Rd Nn, Wausau, WI 54401). A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 19th 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the St Andrew Lutheran Church (150202 County Rd Nn, Wausau, WI 54401).
