He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Grunenwald and Ruth Grunenwald (Fellbaum); his wife Marilyn Grunenwald (Wiederhoeft); his siblings, Jeanette Schmolze, Lavine Krause (Laurenz), Douglas Grunenwald (Lorraine), Floyd Grunenwald (Val), Lloyd Grunenwald (Gladys), Wilber Grunenwald and Eugene Grunenwald (Mable); and his siblings-in-law, Vilas Steidinger and Barbara Grunenwald.
He is survived by: his sons, Steven Grunenwald (Pam) of Wausau and Greg Grunenwald of Wausau; his grandchildren, Cody (Sirin Ince) of Wausau and Logan Grunenwald (Camryn Behnke) of Wausau; his siblings, Duane Grunenwald (Carol) and Phyllis Kostecki (Clarence); and his in-laws, Al Schmolze, Jean Reed (John) and Robert Wiederhoeft (Terri). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 16th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. John Ev. Lutheran Church (5304 44th Ave, Wausau, WI 54401). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 16th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
