He was predeceased by: his parents, John Johnson and Helen Sellnow Sr. (Arthur). He is survived by: his wife Sandra Johnson; his children, Tamila Johnson-White (Bill), Valarie Johnson (Al McKenna), Delaina Johnson and Melissa Zipse (Bradford); and his sister Robin Johnson-Sagen.

In lieu of flowers, a donation in Earl's name can be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Disease.
