He was predeceased by : his parents, Cornelius Hoogesteger and Antoinette Hoogesteger (Balkenende); his stepsons, Lawrence (Larry) and Paul Barton; his granddaughter Christina Barton; his siblings, Cornelius, Donald Hoogesteger and Lorraine Vanderhei; and his siblings-in-law, Marvin Vanderhei (Don), William "Bill" Stake, Russell "Lee" Anunson and Joanne Hoogesteger.

He is survived by : his wife LaVonne Hoogesteger (Loomans); his daughters, Ann Slinkman (Steve) of Wisconsin Rapids, WI and Lisa Klein (Charlie) of Wisconsin Rapids, WI; his grandchildren, Natalie Dampier of Wisconsin Rapids and Caleb Dampier of Jackson, WI; his daughters, Angela Chavarria (Luis) of Green Bay, WI, Becca Kniprath of Stevens Point, WI, Alexis Straughan of Mosinee, WI and Taylor Straughan of Madison, WI; his great grandchildren, Aiden Dampier and Trenton Beaumont; his sister Frances Stake; and his sisters-in-law, Joy Hoogesteger, Charlotte Knipple (Roger) and Linda Anunson.

Visitation was held on Thursday, April 25th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the Herman-Taylor Funeral Home (2201 Chestnut St, Wisconsin Rapids, WI 54494). A funeral service was held on Thursday, April 25th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
