He was predeceased by : his parents, Homer Chafin and Mildred Aldridge Chafin; and his siblings, Jack Chafin, Edith Nunn, Patricia Barker and Gloria Duncan.

He is survived by : his sons, Curtis Chafin (April) and Clinton Chafin; his grandchildren, Lynnlee Chafin, Mackenzie Chafin, Ryleigh Chafin, Cassidy Chafin and Cameron Chafin; his daughter Deborah Fisher Chafin; and his former life partner Connie Chafin. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
