He was predeceased by: his parents, Jackson Keith and Betty Day Wilson Riley; his son David Anthony "Tony" Riley; his sisters, Shirley Collins, Kathy Hardy and Brenda Warner; and his father-in-law Gary Byrd Sr..

He is survived by: his wife Cathy Byrd Riley; his children, LeeAnn Riley of Clarksburg, Gary Riley (Melinda) of Anmoore, Amanda Riley of Louisiana and Samantha Riley (Michael Haymond) of Anmoore; his grandchildren, Jalyn Lamp, Ben Lamp, Easton Riley, Cheyenne Lynch, Colton Lynch, Ayden Lynch, Carson Haymond, Makias Riley, Kordell Riley, Jaden Riley, Andy Barr, Heighleigh Barr, McKenna Haymond and Brailey Haymond; and his siblings, Jackson Riley (Regina), Dwight Davisson (Sue) of Clarksburg and Jerry Riley (Patty) of Nutter Fort. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
