He was predeceased by: his parents, John Ellwood and Catherine Eliza Deal Fager; his brother-in-law Lloyd Farris; and his nephew James Smith. He is survived by: his wife Barbara Diane Fager (Farris); his children, Heather Marie Hunt (Jakob) of Jefferson, MD and John Ellwood Fager III (Amy) of Shippensburg, PA; his stepdaughter Misty Renee Burton (Allen); his grandchildren, Hayden, Ava Fager of Shippensburg, PA, Ashlea Yost (Ricky) of Raleigh, NC and Jayme Repp (Josh) of Hancock, MD; his great grandchildren, Isla and Coleman Yost of Raleigh, NC; and his siblings, Michael Lynn Fager of Smithsburg, MD, Richard Allen Fager of Fairfield, PA and Pamela Sue Henry (Mark) of Leitersburg, MD. He is also survived by two nephews, three brothers-in-law, four sisters-in-law.
