He was predeceased by : his parents, Stanton Gibson and Nancy Bryant Gibson; his wife Deloria Mary Brown Gibson; and his siblings, Cora, Basil, William, Wentz and Waitman.

He is survived by : his sons, Doug (Loretta) of Blount, Randy (Vierra) of Blount, Floyd of Blount, Mike (Billie Jo) of Dunbar and Ricky (Rita) of St. Albans; and his siblings, Sonny of Florida, Clayton (Linda) of Quick, Junior (Gathel) of Clendenin, Roy (Diane) of Goldtown, Flora Brown of Campbells Creek and Roseanne (Chris) of Spencer. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
