He was predeceased by : his wife Patricia Harper Hackney. He is survived by : his mother Betty Jane Hackney of Blount; his daughter Tiffany Dempsey (Michael) of Charleston; his siblings, Joyce Mack (Calvin) of Blount and Michael Hackney (Patti) of Blount; his brother-in-law Brenda Parsons (Vic) of South Charleston; and his grandchildren, Jacob Dempsey (Jake), Emily Dempsey and Katie Dempsey. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
