He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Walter Sponaugle and Bessie Ann Arbogast Sponaugle; and his siblings, Carl Walter Sponaugle, Helen M. Ketterman, Denver Sponaugle, Florence Smith, Isaac S. Sponaugle and Harvey W. Sponaugle.
He is survived by: his wife Hilda Ruth Sites; his children, Terry Hilda Teter (John), Sandra Lynn Rhodes (Jerry) and Charles Michael "Micky" Sponaugle (Cary); his grandchildren, Melissa Ann Turner, Teresa Jan Chaney, Kimberly Renee Kimbleton, Jennifer Lynn McDonald, Jason Tyler Rhodes, Jessica Nicole Warner and Charles Robert Connor Gill; his great grandchildren, Autumn, Michael, Johnathan, Shayne, Mason, Summer, Dallas, Bailey, Noah, Paisley, Kailyn, Connor, Lucas, Levi, Waylon and Quinton; and his great great grandchildren, Briar, Daisy, Amiyah, Elianna and Eston.
