He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Frederick and Hazel Marie Menginiot DeWitt; his daughter Elizabeth Kitching; and his siblings, Gene DeWitt and Barbara Harmon.
He is survived by: his wife Elvina Garnett DeWitt; his stepsons, James K. Reed Jr. (Leslye) of Maryland, Robert A. Reed (Lori) of Mt. Airy, MD and Ronald Reed (Dina) of Maui, HI; his siblings, Lee DeWitt of Walla Walla, WA and Diane Nickleson of Walla Walla, WA; his brothers-in-law, Marvin Zimmerman Jr. and Jackie Lee Zimmerman; and his great grandchild Damon L. Quick. He is also survived by six grandchildren, four great grandchildren.
