He was predeceased by : his parents, Raymond B. Boone and Rose Rodgers Boone; and his siblings, Paul, Glen, Edgel, Richard, Mildred Hyre, Pearl Woodall, Mary Mullens, Margie Mullens and Evelyn Hinkle.
He is survived by : his wife Ruth H. Boone (Hobus) of September; his daughters, Carol Hurd of Capon Bridge, WV, Debbie Boggs of Winchester, VA and Jeanie VanWinkle of Springfield, MO.; his former life partner Mary Boone (McCoy); his half-sister Jennie Lou Armstrong of Montgomery, IL; his sister-in-law Mary Lou Freeman of Bluefield, WV; and his granddaughters, Amanda Clark (Hurd) and Sara Peabody (Hurd). He is also survived by 24 great grandchildren.
