With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Richard Dale Akers (Charleston, West Virginia), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on July 19, 2024. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, James Adair and Elaine Mae Akers; and his sister Linda Sue Buckley. He is survived by: his wife Ellen Akers; his siblings, Marvin Akers and Christy Akers (Micky); his brother-in-law Curtis Potter; his mother-in-law Pat Maertens; his children, Adam Akers (Kristi), Jeffrey Akers and Sarah Engle (Joe); his stepson Brent Garrett (Anne); his grandchildren, Sierra Akers Embrey, Claire Kelley, Benjamin Akers, Ian Kelley, Peyton Akers, Amanda Kelley, Jaelyn and Kadyn Dooley; and his great grandchildren, Owen, Mason, Noah Embrey, Mayleigh and Lexi Kelley. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews.
In lieu of flowers Dale would love it if you would buy a Veteran a meal, give support to a child in need, or in true Dale fashion, give a random child a few dollars.
