We are sad to announce that on December 28, 2022, at the age of 95, Carmena Cortez of Clarksburg, West Virginia, born in Spelter, West Virginia passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Jose Medina and Adela Lopez Medina; her husband James Joseph Cortez; and her brothers, Victor Medina (Mary), Angel Medina (Mary), Tino Medina (Josephine), Manuel Medina (Freda), Louie Medina (Sophie), Charlie Medina, Jesse Medina and Julius Medina (Joe Medina).
She is survived by: her daughters, Adela Cortez (Ted Savino) of Shinnston and Sarah Rebrook (Brad) of Clarksburg; her granddaughters, Heather Boyce (Chris) of Fairmont, Kelly Gola (Jeff) of New Milton and Lisa Nichols (Chris) of Swanton, MD; her great grandchildren, Brittany Cameron, Alex Phares, Andrew Phares, Nicolas Boyce, Trent Gola, Emily Gola and Samuel Gola; and her sisters-in-law, Louvilla Medina of Spelter, Lena Medina of Spelter and Maxine Cortese of Charlotte, NC. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
