He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph William Hyre and Beatrice Lillian Swinger; his wife Betty Louise Hyre; his siblings, Leonard Hyre, Bob Hyre and Margie Ingram; his brother-in-law Freeman Ingram; and his son-in-law Gary Gardner.
He is survived by: his children, Richadeen Gardner and Richard Hyre (Mary); his grandchildren, Amy Gardner, Kim Caruso (Mike), Ricky Hyre, Jamie Hyre, Justin Snyder and Megan Wilson (Josh); and his great grandchildren, Shelby, Eric Phillips, Lily, Meadow Caruso, Brooklyn, Lucas Hyre, Haleigh Hyre, Conner Sigley, Kipton Stire, Wyatt and Brysten Wilson. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
