He was predeceased by: his parents, Gordon Ray Fankhauser and Leatrice "DeDe" Joyce Kennedy Fankhauser; and his brother-in-law Stephen Yachuw. He is survived by: his wife Joyce Medina Fankhauser; his children, Jocelyn Vilain (Surin) of Clarksburg and William "Bill" Fankhauser of Clarksburg; and his grandchildren, Sydney, Corinne Vilain, Joel and Eric Fankhauser.
