He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Murphy and Blondina Bell Murphy; and his siblings, Paul Murphy, Loretta Marks and Roselee Thomas.
He is survived by: his wife Ella Mae Connolly Murphy; his daughters, Betty Mae Cottrell of Bellevue, Neb. and Helen Jeannette Kellar of Creston; his grandchildren, Adeanna Danialle Davis of Creston, Kelly Dawn Metz of Ohio and Jackson Hal Cottrell of Omaha, Neb.; his great grandchildren, Trevor Collins, Troy Collins, Aubrey Collins, Evan Collins and Dane Holly Davis; his sisters, Esther Laughlin of Arnoldsburg, Judy Knotts of Arnoldsburg, Bessie Hall of Spencer and Mildred Lockhart of Parkersburg; and his half-siblings, Ronnie and Robin Murphy.
