He was predeceased by: his parents, Ferrell Messer and Anna Messer; and his sister Alice Thibodeaux. He is survived by: his son Ryan Colton Messer; and his siblings, Cliff Messer, John Messer, Everett Messer, Ernestine Linn and Brenda Schmitt. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
