He is survived by: his parents, Douglas Kirk Shifflett and Victoria White Fitzgerald of Bowden; his stepparents, Marilyn "Dian" Pennington Shifflett of Hambleton and Larry Rayburn of Bowden; his close friend Christina Dawn Nelson of Hendricks; his son Coleman Reed Johnston Shifflett of Hendricks; his stepchildren, Jacob Shane Johnston of Canaan Valley, Denver Troy Nelson of Onego and Marie Elizabeth Johnston of Canaan Valley; his stepgrandchildren, Paisley May Lambert and Avalene Jensen Johnston; his grandparents, Doris and Benny J. Snyder of Harman; his brothers, Josh Keith White (Jerdina) of Arbovale, Douglas Kirk Shifflett II (Marlena) of Harman and Christopher Alex Shifflett (Natisha) of Canaan Valley; his siblings' children, Jase Douglas Shifflett and Madison Claire Shifflett; and his close friend Kermit Bennett.
